A spiritual sanctuary born from a calling.
Our Story
We left the city to build a place where ancient wisdom, yoga, meditation, and spiritual practice could be lived, not just studied. Sattva Sanctuary is what happened next — a school of dharma, a wellness retreat sanctuary, a piece of healed land, and a home for everyone who walks through.

The Journey
From India to the Northern Rivers
Sattva Sanctuary began with a simple vision: to create a place where people could come back to practice, stillness, and themselves.
Ritika’s journey began in India, where she studied and practiced within the Himalayan Kriya Yoga tradition. Over time, these teachings became the foundation of her life and work.
Eran came through his own path of movement, service, and learning how to hold grounded spaces for others.
Together, they brought this vision to the Northern Rivers.
They found twelve acres of land in Burringbar — open grassland waiting to be restored. Over the years, more than 200 trees were planted, a fruit orchard took root, and the land was gently regenerated into a fertile and abundant nature reserve. From this vision, Sattva Sanctuary slowly began to take shape — the practice yurt, the cabins, the living pool, and the dining space.
Everything was built with care and intention.
Sattva means purity, harmony, and balance. This is the feeling behind everything we offer — the food, the land, the teachings, the retreats, and the way students are supported.
Today, Sattva Sanctuary is a place for yoga, meditation, Kriya Yoga, spiritual study, and conscious living.

Our Lineage
Rooted in the Himalayan Kriya Tradition
Sattva's teachings flow from a specific stream: Himalayan Kriya Yoga, woven with Vedic philosophy, Jyotish, meditation, mantra, and the Tantric science of Goddess practice.
This is not a synthesis we invented. It is a living tradition, transmitted teacher-to-student across generations. Ritika studied under masters in the Himalayan foothills and has spent years deepening into Tantric studies, Jyotish, meditation, mantra, and Vedic astrology.
What this means for you: the practices you receive at Sattva are not adapted, watered down, or recombined for a Western audience. They are taught as they were given — with the same precision, the same reverence, the same care.

The Land
Twelve acres in the Northern Rivers
Sattva Sanctuary sits on Bundjalung Country in the Northern Rivers — held by the Mount Burrell ranges, fed by spring water, surrounded by birdsong, regenerating forest, and the peaceful atmosphere of a nature wellness retreat sanctuary.
We acknowledge the Bundjalung people as the Traditional Custodians of this Country, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. This land was cared for long before us, and we are stewards for a moment in a much longer story.
Every choice on the property reflects this: we plant native, build lightly, rely on rainwater and solar where we can, and make space for the wildlife that was here first.
When you come to Sattva Sanctuary, you don't just attend a yoga retreat, meditation retreat, yoga teacher training, or spiritual program. You walk a piece of healed land. You sleep under a sky uncrowded by city light. You hear the dawn chorus that has been singing here for a very long time.

From the fullest part of my heart — thank you. This mentorship transformed me at the deepest level and touched everyone around me.
